The 21/22 academic year has proven that our EMS is not just any society. Our community boasts serious talent, and with our platform I grin from ear to ear when I think about the future. Preserving the vibrant and driven atmosphere of our society is at the forefront of my mind, and I aim to foster a diverse, inclusive and exciting group of electronic music lovers, DJs and producers as we transition into a new chapter. As a first year rep, I have seen the hard work of this years committee and I wish to carry on their legacy by assuming the role of Head of Events next year.
I've been widely participating within the Electronic Music Society in my first year as First Year Rep, liasing with my peers about what makes them want to attend the society events and what we can improve upon in the near future to attain even more engagement.
I have gone to every EMS event and social, and try to engage with the society members and culture as much as I can - as I am truly passionate about this society, and its future. This enthusiasm will be no different in the coming year if I was to be elected as Head of Events, and I would put as much effort into my role as I could to progress the society onwards beyond its already increasing path.
Within this role I would aim to tackle some issues that are endemic to the music industry as a whole, namely represenation of women, PoC, and LGBT+ individuals. I'd like to have a push for many interactive socials early in the academic year, to get as many people as comfortable and familiar with their peers in the society, so that all people within the society are more likely to take on daunting challenges such as trials. With a wider pool of people attending trials I hope the future EMS event line-ups can be diverse and representative of every background.
Thank you for your consideration, hope to see you next year.

I love electronic music and have been to many different events and therefore have a good grasp of what makes an event memorable. I therefore believe I could have a positive contribution to the society by taking on this role.
I have been an active member of EMS for 3 years now and I think now is a great time to start participating in its running. I love electronic music, and have been producing and DJing primarily electro and techno for over 4 years. Furthermore, prior to university, I have run 3 hugely successful house and techno events in my hometown of Leeds and have some great ideas on how to expand the reach and participation of some of UCL's most popular student nights, including a variety of genre-specific events to cater to all tastes. I know what it means to manage successful events, and I have the necessary experience required to manage relationships with clubs and promoters. I will also make sure to give fair opportunity to budding DJs (alongside the EMS veterans ;) ).
