Hi, I'm Sean, a Year 1 Maths Student and I'd love to be your Freshers' Representative!

I play alto saxophone, piano and sing, and I have loved being in Live Music Society and getting to know everyone, whether it be playing in Extravabandza, an Open Mic event or watching any of the gigs that have already been on! I'd love to get even more involved by standing for Freshers' Rep!

As a fresher, I can understand the trepidation in terms of joining societies and putting yourself out there, and this may apply especially in terms of music societies as you need to put yourself out there creatively as well (in a live performance no less!). I would seek to help freshers passionate about music help integrate themselves comfortably into the society, such as trying to join a band or find like-minded music people within the society, as well as be a friendly face that you can always talk or pop a message to and ask questions to about anything LM. I can also act as a liaison between freshers and the committee and pass on any requests and inquiries you may have about the society.

I hope I'll be able to cultivate this amazing society full of talented musicians and contribute more to Live Music Society as your Freshers' Representative!

Costanza Campanacci

I am thrilled to stand for nomination as the Fresher's Representative for the Live Music Society.

As a musician myself, I understand music's role in creating a sense of community and belonging. However, my journey in the realm of music extends beyond personal practice; I am one of the four founding members of HAT Music, an enterprise dedicated to cooperating with artists to help them achieve their goals by addressing the various needs of a musician as the distribution, production, social media management, graphic design, booking and more. This entrepreneurial experience has equipped me with valuable insights into the challenges and strategies of the music industry. I believe these experiences uniquely position me to represent the interests of freshers entering the UCL Live Music Society. Through my work at HAT Music, I have honed essential skills in project management, communication, and teamwork, which are crucial for fostering a thriving music community.

In addition, my academic pursuits in the Arts and Sciences program provide me with a multidisciplinary perspective that I believe will contribute to the diversity of thought within our society. I am particularly excited about the opportunity to connect my academic knowledge with my passion for music, with the ultimate goal of working in the managing side of the music industry.

If elected as the Fresher's Representative, I am committed to creating a welcoming environment for new members, ensuring they feel supported and inspired to explore our community. I am standing for

We as freshers are not only the ones who will carry on the society’s traditions but help it evolve. Hence, the role of the freshers’ representative cannot be understated and I believe that I have the passion and experience to take on this role.

A point of contact for freshers would allow for freshers to feel more comfortable within the UCLLM, bringing a stronger sense of community. Through collaborating with different year groups for events during high school, from cheerleading (20+ people) to a fashion show (100+ people), I am accustomed to expressing diverse views and wish to continue this at UCLLM.

I have a few ideas in mind to enhance the live music society from my experience of 5 years of playing bass and being in a band. For example, a UCLLM discord server would benefit the communication between different members of the society; this would allow for multiple text channels to meet various needs from music help to suggestions or even a general chat to make friends. Through this, it will develop a better overall engagement of the society. Another idea I have is an inter-university battle of the bands. This way, we can show London that UCL rocks the hardest!

Furthermore, shadowing key society officers will allow me to understand the responsibilities of different roles as I hope to pursue a greater role within the society in the near future.

Ultimately, I hope to make the live music society a place where people make fond memories and the highlight of their uni life.
