Description

Mosaic LGBT+ Young People’s Trust is an organisation that works to support, educate, and inspire young LGBT+ persons and those around them. We do this by providing accessible activities, programmes and services that aim to empower community members, provide essential resources, advocate for young LGBT+ rights, and embrace, promote and endorse the diversity of young persons.

We run two youth groups, a Young Person’s Club for 12-18s and a Young Adults group for 18-25s. We are looking for two volunteers who will work together to help us analyse some data that was collected earlier this year to understand the impact of our work on the young people we work with. Where there are gaps in this data, we would like the volunteers to do some additional data collection as well. Ultimately, we want the findings from the research to contribute to our annual impact report.

Duties
  • Data analysis: Analyse existing qualitative and quantitative data to demonstrate the impact of our work
  • Data collection: Carry out surveys, focus groups or interviews as needed to fill gaps in our data
  • Writing up: Collate, organise and write up the research findings (in the form of a short document or presentation)

Who will the volunteers be working with?
Mosaic LGBT+ staff, volunteers and young people
Training
We can provide training and support around mentorship and working with young people. These can be discussed with the volunteer supervisor once appointed.

Time commitment

We would like the outputs to be ready by mid to late December. We anticipate that volunteers will spend between 1-2 hours a week on the tasks. Our youth group sessions are between 2-3 hours, and occasionally volunteers may like to take part in these and meet the group.
