Description

We are looking for volunteers to support our Digital Arts sessions for neurodiverse children and young people such as those with autism and ADHD. In these relaxed sessions participants will be supported by professional artists to experiment with different digital arts techniques (animation, coding, illustration), build social and communication skills and make friends. Artwork produced by participants will be displayed in our annual exhibition.

Days and times:

Wednesdays (term-time) 4:30-6.45pm:

Term 1 - 15th January - 2nd April 2025

Term 2 - 23rd April - 9th July 2025

Duties

They will work alongside the artist facilitator and HCA staff to motivate, support and engage individually and in groups in a variety of digital arts tasks using ipads and recording equipment, supporting them to produce their own digital artwork. Volunteers are required to arrive 15 minutes before the session to help set up and to help clear away at the end of the session.

Who will the volunteers be working with?
Volunteers will work alongside an artist facilitator, HCA staff, and children and young people aged 6 - 18.
Training
We will provide all volunteers with an induction session to basic health and safety of the space, safeguarding and general information and guidance about supporting children and young people with social communication difficulties.

Time commitment

Ideally we would like volunteers to commit to attending on a weekly basis for at least one term. However we understand that things come up and timetables change so are open to being flexible.
