Become a Project Activator
Project Active Activators will help to encourage more students to take part in physical activity through supporting the Project Active programme.
Each Activator will choose their preferred activity* and will work with the Project Active Coordinator to facilitate high quality weekly sessions within your chosen activity.
Each activity has an experienced coach/instructor delivering the session. Your job will be help to promote the sessions to encourage new participants in targeted student demographic areas.
Your responsibilities will also include to:
- Provide a friendly welcome to participants
- oversee session registration and accurately collect attendance data
- set up and set down equipment for sessions if needed
- adhere to health and safety policies and procedures
- be receptive to new opportunities and ideas for increasing participation
- collect participant, feedback, comments, photographs etc.
Requirements
- All Student Sport Activators must be current students at UCL.
- You don't need any specific qualifications to volunteer on the programme, all we require is enthusiasm, commitment and a passion for encouraging more students to get active.
- We want our students to feel welcomed and supported, and it's important to us that all our volunteers demonstrate confidence, friendliness and good communication skills.
- We are also looking for volunteers with excellent time keeping skills and the ability to plan, organise and think creatively.
Time Commitment
- 2 hour weekly during term time
- Attendance at Project Active meetings (approx.4 across the academic year)
- Assistance with events such as This Girl Can Week if available
