March's Academic Rep of the month is: Beulah Kuku
We love that Beulah co-organised a dinner party with their fellow academic reps to create a more relaxed and inclusive environment where they were able to discuss issues and brainstorm potential solutions. They also created a questionnaire to gain student insight on current issues as well as set up a group chat on WhatsApp for engagement. Beulah is currently working on how to build better clarity and communication between staff and students and has made this a priority during their weekly meetings.

Hello students, staff and guests. I am Beulah Kuku, Architecture BSc Year 1’s student representative with Ryhan Sheik. I am highly appreciative to be the recipient of this award for March 2022.
I have enjoyed being a student rep this year. In the role I have learned so much about how The Bartlett operates, from its intricate but arguably highly inconspicuous network of Staff, to how the faculty is run financially which partially enables me to see how and why things pan out the way they do. I have been given such insight through attending student-staff meetings and I encourage you to do the same in the faculty and course that you are in. If you don’t have one, Student and Staff please, make one!
It is through our knowledge and education that our concerns as students and student representatives of all tiers will have no choice but to be taken seriously and given the weight they deserve. As a result of this, I am going to continue to encourage more people in my year to attend meetings of this nature and for the crucial information to be found on screens within the Bartlett, with further resources found in an easy to navigate Moodle page.
