Eloise Booth

Hi! I'm Eloise and I would love to be your Socials and Community Secretary, as I know I can help expand the membership & activity of our Labour society!

I have many ideas for events engaging more with our community, including social events with the Labour societies from other unis like Kings and LSE, and collaborating with other societies at UCL that we (democratically) agree share our cause, such as Gender and Feminism society and Students for Justice in Palestine. Also, I have the suggestion of public debates over specific issues with the Conservative society at UCL and other unis, which I think could be a great way to project our message in the community. I have other ideas to help strengthen our support, not limited to increasing our social media presence (e.g. by exposure on other well-established societies’ media accounts), and new merchandise, such as UCL Labour society phone cases/phone card holders.

The main things you need to know is that I am creative, practical and actually enjoy admin, so will be on top of emailing MPs and running our social media. I am very organised and have led major campaigns in the past, including organising a range of events (like speakers, parties and a marathon) for International Women’s Week as Chair of my school’s Equality Commission, raising over 6 grand for Women’s Refuge. I plan on having a career working for the Labour Party, so I can promise I will bring a passion and commitment to this role. :)
