Apratim Shastri

For the last two years, Ice Club has been what gets me going each week. Now that the club has given me so much, it's time to give something back and finally lead us into the golden era of UCL hockey & figure.

If elected, my primary aim would be to streamline the way we work. We may be a small(er) club, but we deserve more (positive!) attention from those in charge. I will therefore not hesitate to be firm and decisive when cooperating with the Union, so we waste less time and secure opportunities we might otherwise have missed.

I also want to raise the club's profile - too many people don't actually know we exist, and we could be missing out on countless future Wayne Gretzkys and Sonja Henies. I'd try to host an introduction event at the start of the year to raise awareness & recruit some talent (or at least provide us some entertainment).

I'm in a good position to take over as president. As part of this year's committee, I've seen how it all works and won't waste time learning the ropes. I've also been in this position before as VC of my school's boat club - I know how to lead, I know how to do admin, and most importantly I know how to lead a successful club. Plus I'm a goalie, so you know I don't shirk away from responsibility.

When I started hockey here as a total novice I didn't really think anything would come of it. Two years and countless new friendships later, I would be honoured to represent you for the coming year.
