Hockey Club (Women's): 1XI Vice-Captain

Hi UCLWHC :)

I was a bag of nerves that first Monday trek to Brent Cross, but when I arrived I felt so welcome. I'd love to be vice-captaIN to help next years' hockey fresh feel a similar sense of community IN those dauntINg first weeks of term.

My aims:

• INtroduce a slightly more competitive atmosphere, givINg commitment a heightened sense of importance.
• INcrease traININg INtensity to better prepare us for matches (and keep us warmer on those freezINg Monday evenINgs).
• This season we've had great players but just haven't been able to get that wIN, improved lINk up play between defence, mids and forwards will help us brINg the ball up the pitch to score goalsss.
• More matches withIN the club: these helped me to meet the lovely people IN other teams and the team found it very useful to have matchplay IN traININg.
• Have a system where players can communicate what they fINd useful and would like to see more of IN traININg so I can relay this to Chris, helpINg us make the most of our pitch time.
• Participation IN INter team activities: RUHC Saturday games (as a medic I'd hope to communicate well with RUMS (and convINce their best players to joIN UC...)), mixed games (what better way to nurse a hangover??), and of course Wednesday post-match antics at PhIN and Scala.

Hockey is the best way of stayINg fit, makINg friends, havINg new experiences, and I want everyone to be as excited now as they were when they first picked up a stick. Roll on 2022/23!
