Hello, I’m Summer, currently in second year Economics. As a Treasurer, I will try my best to manage the society’s funds transparently and effectively.
Treasurer’s one of the main job is to fill in the necessary forms in the system. I’ve been a president of another society where I have to fill in some forms as well. As I have experience for doing it, therefore, there wouldn’t be confusion in completing the work. Also, I will try to utilise and manage the society fund to operate the society events smoothly and effectively.
Thanks for reading and it would be great if you can vote for me as a Treasurer. Thanks :)
Hi everyone,
I am a second-year Economics student and would like to run for treasurer of the Green Economy society next year.
Words like ‘sustainability’, ‘circular economy’, ‘climate change’ and more have been mentioned countless times by professors, friends, family, and every social media platform I visit. However, I could not grasp the connection between sustainability and my study until I attended the Green Business Forum organised by the Green Economy society last year. Even though it was held online, the impact that it made on my first year at university was tremendous. It made me rethink my future career choices and the way I approach my studies. Therefore, I would like to provide this opportunity for coming students so they can have the same enriching experiences as I did. I am confident that I will support the committee in terms of finances with the skills that I have acquired as a previous treasurer of one of the biggest societies at UCL. Let’s create a sustainable, fair, and friendly environment for everyone!
Yours,
Sophie
Hey guys,
I’m Melodie, BSc Economics and Statistics student hoping to be your Treasurer. With great passion in Sustainability and Impact Investment, I've proactively engaged in GES's events and found this society and open and supportive community, which I'd love to actively support, in turn, by taking on this role.
About why I fit this role…
- Worked as the sustainable consultant for a fintech startup in Malaysia, identifying new databases to compute and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and suggesting incentivisation and monetisation ideas.
- Strong quantitative skills and economics knowledge gained from my degree that allows me to manage finance and deal with all money-related issues.
- Obtained sponsorships cumulatively worthing a few thousand pounds for publishing yearbook as the President of Literature Society in sixform.
About my key goals…
- Reaching out to entrepreneurs and start-ups to seek a more diverse range of partnership opportunities.
- Properly balance and utilize our society’s accounts to bring a variety of fun events, activities, and workshops.
- Be responsible for the overall financial well-being of society both internally and externally, through collaborating closely with the President.
I’m very excited and looking forward to meeting you all :)
