Andrew Chan
Dear Members of UCL Fencing Club,
With extensive experience in the sport, the management and people skills needed, and most importantly an immense sense of belonging to Team UCL, I urge you to vote for me to be your President in 2022/23.
As a consistent Men's 2nd team member and occasional 1st team member, I have witnessed the extremely high level that our Club plays at - with passion, competitiveness, and loyalty. I have high hopes that our Fencing Club's superior status across UCL as one of the only two teams in the highest divisions in BUCS will continue. Having attended international competitions and with experience in UK domestic competitions, I believe my vision of fencing allows me to lead the Club to a new apex in the coming season.
For the coming season, I propose:
- In addition to fixed selections, Captains may select fencers throughout the season to promote to the Team so to attract the best athletes and recognise your improvements
- Raise the bar for "Experienced" sessions so to increase competition within the Team
- The coach for the coming season will be hand-picked by the Committee and myself
