Catherine Fomenkova

Hello everyone!

My name is Catherine and this year I am nominating myself for a Treasurer!

I am in the society for the second year already and I want to continue to be a part of the society for the next year too!

EBS is a society where everyone is involved and everyone is working on a particular target and that is why we are there as a big team.

That helps you to evolve and grow with the society - and that is what I like the most about it!

I hope to achieve even more in this society and have an opportunity to continue developing my skills!

The treasurer is a perfect position for that as you are responsible for the budget of the society and managing all the transactions, which plays a key role for the society as a whole.

Hope you have a nice time and good luck with the leadership process!

Eve Crooijmans

As a Russian-Ukrainian, raised in Moscow, I've witnessed the prosperous evolution Moscow has undergone in the past 15 years. Growing up, I spent my mornings watching Bloomberg with my mother. She'd hand me the Financial Times and even to this day, she sends me articles about the best cryptocurrencies to buy. Starting from working at McDonald’s to becoming the CEO of a bank, and retiring at the age of 45, she serves as a huge inspiration for my career aspirations (the CEO part).

I had entrepreneurial spirit in school, starting fundraising projects, founding a STEM Society, and managing several streams of income. Studying Medical Sciences and Engineering, I have a strong background in mathematics and apply these skills whilst financing capital. I have also had work experience at KPMG, a medtech start-tup and Deutsche Bank where I got hand-on experience in consulting, enterprise and banking. I regularly read Seeking Alpha, Market Watch, stock tickers and use software such as Atom Finance to make educated investments. I also help my parents with managing their real estate properties.

I am standing for the Treasurer position at the Eurasian Business Society because I believe I have the experience to be responsible for the financial matters of EBS, including authorising and recording all expenditure on behalf of the Society. As Treasurer, I plan to allocate the budget to the most engaging, informative, and inspiring events, with an emphasis on socialising.

Alexander Olkhovskiy

Hi! I’m Alexander, running for Treasurer of EBS. To me, involving members is at the heart of what makes a great society, and so my goal is to leverage this position to ensure EBS is a society formed not just by the committee, but by those in it.

My previous experiences cement confidence in my skills to be successful as a Treasurer:
• An internship at the Mail.ru Group equipped me in dealing with sizeable responsibility
• Having chaired my school's Business Society and Russian Society for two years taught me what it means to lead with intention
• Working in an Active Investment Fund demonstrates knowledge of the industry of business
These experiences demonstrate my resilience and integrity, which are vital for a treasurer, both qualities I pride myself in.

As Treasurer I plan to;
• Branch out financial support to a wider range of careers in business
• Prioritise collaboration over competition with fellow societies to maximise events and funding
• Allocate funds to hosting more in-person events, making up for the lack-of these in the previous 2 years due to COVID restrictions

I am running for Treasurer because, despite the hurdles, I strongly believe it’s not too late to turn things around for EBS next year. Above all, it was the freshers that missed out the most, and as one myself, I sympathise with this, driving the motivation to bring about a fresh perspective for change.
Thank you!
