I'd love to be women's secretary this year to build on our community and develop the women's game further. I have benefitted massively from the coaching and support from UCL CC and believe that my knowledge from being the club's women's social secretary will be invaluable in providing the same for others. Running my own business and being a part of the RUMS CC the UCL Women in Surgery committees have honed my leadership and organisation skills, I look forward to harnessing these in this role. Additionally, as someone who started as a beginner and is now more experienced, I believe that I can cater to all skill levels of women in the club and facilitate the development of beginner cricketers effectively.

Here are some of my goals:

  • Build on and create new networks with external organisations to create as many opportunities as possible.
  • Organise women's training sessions during fresher's week to recruit new women.
  • Establish joint experienced women's nets at Lords with other university cricket clubs.
  • Work closely with the men's captains to form mixed hardball teams.
  • Host regular socials to develop the women's community and establish traditions such as an alumni dinner and the post-intraclub day awards ceremony.

Cricket has historically been a heavily male-dominated sport, yet, I have been hugely inspired by how our club has challenged the barriers that women face. I would be incredibly proud to continue our work and be an advocate for women in cricket.
