The Cricket Club is one of UCL's largest sport societies. We have 3 summer teams, 2 competitive and 1 recreational, with multiple on and off the pitch events per week, all year round. Whether interested in our elite athlete program, trying a new skill, or seeking a sense of community, UCLCC would love to have you!
2025 was another hugely successful year for the club. Our 1st XI put out strong performances in Division 1 and the 2nd XI were on the cusp of promotion. For the 4th year running we beat KCL 3-0 in Varsity confirming our unbeaten streak since COVID for another year. Going into the 2025/6 season we are hoping to see our 1st XI gain promotion to the BUCS Southern Prem. We provide for all standards from beginner to academy athlete!
Off the pitch we are very active; we have inter-club socials every week (both drinking and non-drinking), social tours, and valued charity partnerships, including with the Ruth Strauss Foundation.
Training:
- Every Wednesday during term 1 we train at Lord's Indoor Centre
- We then move to Finchley Indoor Centre (where Middlesex CCC train)
- After the first reading week, there will be additional 1st XI and 2nd XI sessions for those squads
- "Elite Athlete" Program 2025/26 involving S&C and nutrition sessions for 1st XI players
- Weekly Summer Nets at Highgate CC and fielding sessions at Regent's Park during term 3
- Regular club runs throughout the year
Fixtures:
- Weekly Term 3 BUCS games for the 1st and 2nd XI
- Weekly Term 3 LUSL games (recreational league) for casual/beginner players
- Varsity vs KCL (1st and 2nd XI tbc)
- Alumni Match, UCLCC vs UCL Hockey Club, UCLCC vs RUMS fixtures
- Inter-club fixtures if required to fill weeks
- Two Indoor Teams partaking in national tournament during Term 1
Socials:
- Weekly Sports Night at Phineas (Student Union Bar) and Scala, all year round
- Regular joint socials with several other clubs e.g. Women's Lacrosse
- Club Meals and Curry Nights
- Club days out to watch the County Championship, T20 Blast, and Hundred
- Social Tours, domestically e.g. Brighton and abroad e.g. Split, Croatia
Memberships:
- The free 'Taster' Membership allows you to attend 1 Lord's net session + 2 socials in Weeks 1 and 2
- The 'Standard' £60 Membership is required for subsequent Wednesday training, socials, and all matches
- The "Performance" £80 Membership is required for additional 1st XI training, S&C, and 1st XI fixtures
