Clara Sicard

Hi all!

If you don't know me yet, I am Clara, and I have been part of this club since my first year (it is definitely the best choice I took at university). Next year should be my last year at UCL, and it would be pretty fun to make the most of it by being president!

I will try my best to make sure the climbing and mountaineering activities are kept central within UCL societies! + little bonus: I am a big fan of slacklining, so if you haven't tried it yet, you'll definitely get a chance to do it with me!

Also, I was trip sec this year, so it allowed me to see how the club is running. + second bonus: you might already know that I have a tradition of making videos edits of our funny little trip outdoors; I'll make sure to keep this going next year as well!

Fun facts: You can't be scared of me, I am too kind for that, and you will mostly hear me cheering you up in french: "aller !"

That's all for me! Take care guys! And let's have fun next year with UCLCMC!

James Norris

Hi, I’m James Carter Norris, and I’m nominating myself for president of UCLCMC. Im doing this because I really enjoy what the club offers and want to do my part in helping it to continue to do so.

I see the role of president within a society as a positive enabler, and that’s exactly what I’d want to be doing. The club is already very established, and so I don’t have any grand ideas. I just want to make it as easy as possible for members to get the most out of the club, be that joining us on club trips, organising your own, developing skills, or just as a means of socialising with your mates.

Im specifically going for president because I enjoy leadership, and helping and teaching people.

Climbing is a sport that very quickly becomes a large part of your life, a lot of people climb a lot, and so the club comes together more frequently than most. This results in a quite a bit of work for the committee, and so as president I’d work to make sure the time so generously donated by those in committee roles is most effectively utilised so everyone can get the most out of the club, committee inlcuded.

If this all sounds like something you want then please do vote for me, I’m really looking forward to next year and a summer of climbing.
