As an experienced MUNer, both as a delegate and as staff, I believe I am in an ideal position to help lead future UCLUNA delegates in achieving their fullest potential during training sessions as well as during future conferences. Having experience as a delegate, I can aid delegates by bringing advice and recommendations from my years of conference going. This extends to helping in teaching them about the procedure of debate, best practices, resolution writing and so on. In addition, I believe that my various staffing experiences can aid me in the running of training sessions as well as informing their actions based on what the chairs or other members of staff would look kindly on, as well as aiding members should they be interested in individual applications. Finally, given the relative lul in conferences and conference quality over the past two years due to COVID, I believe that this is the perfect opportunity for me to make sure that UCLUNA enters the next conference cycle as one of the leading MUN associations.

Abeni Randeep Sethi

In the capacity of Secretary General of my high school, I was responsible for training delegations for conferences around the country. I would host regular meetings with them, provide them with feedback on preliminary speeches and guide them through the process of research. In addition to this, I introduced younger students to the concept of MUN through a 6-part workshop series. In this series, my team and I covered rules of procedure, research, speech writing, lobbying, documentation, and handling a crisis scenario in committee. I have created and collected a number of useful documents that can be shared and utilised by students. My experience as a vice chairperson and a chairperson have given me a unique perspective on what is expected of delegates which will prove to be valuable to students

I would love to expand the UCLUNA resource base by providing documents that contain sample position papers, draft resolutions etc. Additionally, I would like to include advice on writing speeches, handling different kinds of portfolios, and even providing sample speeches on generic topics which can be referred to while new delegates are constructing arguments and writing speeches.

I enjoy training fellow delegates and teaching them about the concept of Model UN. This, coupled with my extensive experience in training students make me a suitable candidate for training officer.
