Lou Genoud

Hello, everyone! I'm Lou, a second-year MSE student, and I'm really excited about creating more opportunities for us to connect and explore our career paths. I have a strong passion for healthcare technology, particularly in the field of medical robotics. I'm constantly researching internship opportunities and chatting with PhD students, which has led me to discover some incredible individuals who would be fantastic speakers for our student society. I'm eager to contribute to the growth of our society and be a part of the events organising team.

I believe I'm a great fit for this role because I am extremely organised, time efficient, and dedicated to tailoring our events to your interests.
Additionally, I'm connected with Swiss tech companies in London through the Swiss society, which could open up some wonderful networking opportunities for all of us.

One of my ideas for future events is to host Q&A sessions about pursuing masters and PhDs in healthcare tech. These sessions would involve discussions with master's and PhD students from institutions like Imperial, UCL, and others. It would be a fantastic way for us to learn from more experienced students, and for our post-graduate members, it presents a valuable networking opportunity.

I'm excited to be part of this journey with you, so please remember to vote for me. With your help, we can turn these ideas into exciting realities and make our student society even better together!

Karim Yoosoofsah

As a ‘Medical Science and Engineering' student and someone passionate about bioengineering, I want to help build this society to showcase events that will educate members about innovative medical technologies that will revolutionize healthcare and save lives. I want to organize speaker events and conferences from people from the engineering and medical sectors that will inspire our members to understand better what career path they want to pursue in this revolutionary field. These events will allow members to form relationships with industry professionals and researchers and help bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world applications in bioengineering.

The reason I applied for this role is because I have previous experience in setting up a bioengineering society in my school and organizing speaker events, presenting topics such as CRISPR-Cas9, base editing and anti-ageing technologies (e.g. senolytic agents) and how they are currently being used to cure diseases. I made this society very interactive and enjoyable by hosting quizzes and game nights relating to medical technologies. This is something I hope to do in this society as a means to help build our members' knowledge of emerging and current biotechnologies in a fun rewardable fashion.

By committing to this society, I want to create a community where ideas can flourish, and our members feel valued. By voting for me, I hope to organize events that cater to the interests of our members!

Eva Hita Sogorb

Hi! I’m Eva, a second year MEng Biomedical Engineering student.

I am very interested in everything health-tech related, so I am always trying to participate in activities to learn more about this amazing sector and meet other fellow health-tech enthusiasts!

This is one of the main reasons why I am standing for this position. I want to organise events so that we can all gain valuable experience and continue to be inspired by the people who are revolutionising this sector.

From hackathons to talks to board games, be assured that with me as your Events and Networking officer, there will always be something happening that you will want to take part on.

If you have any questions or if you just want to say hi, feel free to talk to me if you see me around, or just text me in the society group chat :)
