We are excited to have our very own private guided tour of London Transport Museum's Acton Town Depot! A great opportunity to see for yourself the rich history that the city has accumulated in its pioneering journey to build what we know and love today!

With access to the archives very limited, we're delighted to be able to offer tickets at a reduced price of £6 (compared to the usual £11!).

Get exclusive access to the archive of everything that has formed transport's evolution in London to this point, with expert explanations and chance to ask your own questions to our tour guide on things including...

  • Vintage tube trains, preserved and restored to get on board, explore and try operating (trains made between the 1800's and the modern day!)
  • Prototype and decommissioned buses like the original 1950s Routemaster
  • Unique prototype spiral escalator, installed at Holloway Road station in 1906 and thought to be lost to history!
  • 1800's horse-drawn buses
  • Vintage maps and signage from across the network (some telling stories of stations that no longer exist)
  • Historic poster collection

Also get to see the museum's dedicated volunteers working to restore a variety of historic relics from across the TfL network, in their effort to preserve the city's transport history and educate all on the journey taken to today's system.

Only 20 spaces available so grab your ticket whilst you can! As our membership funds help cover the costs, ticket sales are limited to standard members only. Not a standard member but think this event sounds interesting? Purchase an annual membership to the society today for £3!

The Depot at Acton is close to Acton Town Underground station. The approach road to the Depot has a fairly steep incline.

Inside the Depot there are ramps and wheelchair platforms to some areas. First floor areas can be accessed via a passenger lift.

Unfortunately, due to essential repair works, the stairlift to the sign collection is currently out of order.

The disabled toilet is on the ground floor.

Parking spaces at the Museum Depot are limited. During open weekends, parking is only available to blue badge holders, on a first come first served basis.
