Do you want to make a real difference in someone's life? We are looking for new Information & Advice volunteers. As an Information & Advice volunteer, you will help clients apply for various grants like the Winter Warmer Fund and Resident Support Scheme grants. It is incredibly important work; without this support, many clients would not have access to these grants. Many clients find form filling complicated and overwhelming and will need a bit of support and guidance. The guidance will be provided through one-to-one conversations over the phone/zoom mainly and occasionally over email. You will make sure the forms have been filled in correctly, have supporting documents included, etc. This role will suit someone with a good dose of patience, someone who enjoys chatting to people from all backgrounds, someone with empathy, and a willingness to understand the client's problems. You need to be accurate and thorough with attention to detail. You will work from home but will be given lots of training and support and followed up closely. All client interactions will be logged on our CRM system. We are hoping that from this role, you will gain a better understanding of the issues facing local people, gain knowledge of what support is available, do some meaningful work, and make a real, tangible difference in someone's life. This role will be done from home, using your phone and computer.

Time commitment

Because the training and administrative work required to get a volunteer set up is quite extensive, we are asking for a commitment of a minimum of 3-4 hours a week for at least 6 months.
