I am thrilled to run for Vice President of our society. I believe that the role of the Vice President is to support and work closely with the President, and to ensure that the society operates efficiently and effectively.
As Vice President, I will have two main priorities:
-
Supporting the President: My first priority will be to support the President in their work to achieve our society's goals and objectives. I will work closely with the President to ensure that their vision for the society is implemented and that we are all working towards the same goals. I will also be available to assist the President with any tasks or responsibilities that they may need help with.
-
Improving the Society's Operations: My second priority will be to improve the society's operations and make sure that we are running efficiently and effectively. I will work with the rest of the committee to streamline our processes and ensure that everyone is clear on their roles and responsibilities. I will also be responsible for managing the society's finances and ensuring that we are making the most of our resources.
I am excited about the opportunity to serve as your Vice President and to work with the rest of the committee to make our society the best it can be. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely, Tolu Elesin
Hi!! My name is Anna, I’m a current third year chemical engineering student and I am running for VP of UCLES next year!
Over the past two years I had the honour to be first, an events executive and this year head of events. These roles have taught me a great deal of how this society functions, the effort that must be put in for a successful event and how interconnected the work is with what both sponsorship and marketing do. I believe all of this would be extremely valuable for the role of VP.
If I were to be elected, next year I would:
- Continue to develop, grow and build new and existing relationships with ucl societies and departments and outside of ucl
- Assist the new head of events in ensuring we provide a high range and quality of events throughout the year
- Ensure we run both social and academic events regularly, so that our members can find our society truly beneficial
- Run a charity event that would benefit underprivileged high schoolers that want to study STEM subjects at university
- Work with next year's welfare officer to run an event focused on mental health and stress
- Be available to assist next year’s president and other committee members whenever needed, ensuring they feel supported throughout.
This society has been one of the highlights of my UCL experience, giving me some of my most invaluable friendships and memories and I would love to end my journey here by being your VP. If you feel I would be a good fit, please vote for me :)
