Hi my name is Gerald and I'm a 1st Year Mechanical Engineering Student. I recently spent the last 2 Years in Singapore Armed Forces, serving as an Amphibious Combat Engineer Platoon Sergeant. Through the experiences and hardships, it has forged me into a competent leader, as well as boosting my management and inter-personal skills.
I am an avid Engineer, whose interest has led me to multiple engineering projects outside of my Academic. Taking upon this role would vindicate the efforts I have put into my engineering pursuits and I see myself excelling in this imperative Leadership Position. Voting for me will put the Engineering Society's Treasury responsibilities in good hands. I look forward to assuming this role in due course.
I am running for Treasurer of the UCL Engineering Society because I am committed to assisting the society's financial goals and ensuring that we can continue to provide valuable experiences to our members. My previous experience running a successful baking business has provided me with a solid understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and record-keeping. Furthermore, my experience in investment banking has provided me with a solid foundation in financial analysis and modelling.
As Treasurer, I would collaborate closely with the committee to develop a solid financial strategy and efficiently manage the society's finances. I am confident that my attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and excellent communication skills will allow me to produce accurate financial reports, effectively manage budgets, and provide timely updates to the committee and members.
My interest in problem solving and personal development would be beneficial in this role, as I would actively seek out opportunities to improve the society's financial performance and identify areas for growth. Overall, I am excited about the prospect of serving as Treasurer and contributing to the organisation.
