Umair W Asghar

I feel I would be an excellent fit for the Vice-President of Finance, as I have had ample experience in the financial field and have a keen passion for the subject, demonstrated by my attendance in multiple EFS finance-related speaker events, with a notable one for me being the talk by Joseph Simeon on PJT and the day-to-day workings of an analyst at a top firm. Additionally, as President of the KEGS Economics Society for 2 years, I have been able to hone my technical and interpersonal skills by leading sessions on a weekly basis, and I believe I would be able to translate this across into my role as Vice-President of Finance. The opportunity would also be of great benefit to me, as I would further be able to develop my knowledge of finance and help make EFS a better learning environment for all its members. My attributes, in tandem with my eagerness to commit to this role, make me well-suited to taking on the task of Vice-President.

Dany Mehrez

Dear Economics and Finance Society members,

My name is Dany Mehrez, and I'm running for the position of Finance Vice President within our well-established society. As a passionate and dedicated individual, I am determined to use my skills and knowledge to further our society's objectives.

I have gained practical experience in finance through internships and part-time work. This summer, I interned at Bank of Africa's Trade Finance section, which provided me with a solid foundation in financial management. I have previously held various leadership positions such as treasurer of my high school's Investment Club where I organized a finance-related conference.

As Finance VP, I intend to take initiatives to increase financial literacy among members and the larger community, thus sensitizing more people to finance and allowing us to attract more members! I also aim to increase networking opportunities by continuing to organize events that bring finance professionals and students together (such as the Investment Banking Careers Fair). Finally, I will provide members with valuable resources such as workshops, seminars, and mentorship programmes to help them excel in their future careers.

I believe my academic credentials, practical experience, leadership skills, and societal commitment make me a good candidate for Finance VP. I am confident that I can make a significant contribution to the society's objectives and goals, and I would be honored to serve as your VP this year.
