Music has always been the best vessel for expressing yourself in ways you wouldn't be able to otherwise, and starting a conversation on how to take care of yourself can sometimes be hard for those of us who prefer to sing/play how we feel. I value the importance of preserving mental health, especially in an environment that feels very fast-paced and chaotic as uni is. As Welfare Officer I would be open to the concerns of all society members and do my best to help and address issues that are brought up. Whether it's grabbing a cup of coffee or jamming out, I'll be here to support you.

Alex Wu Tcherdakoff

Hi, I'm Alex, I sing and play guitar and bass sometimes and I study computer science. I'm passionate about inclusivity and welfare, and I pride myself in being approachable. As welfare officer, I would do my best to ensure that anyone in an uncomfortable situation could come speak to me about it, and to be firm but fair in any disputes. I have been on a UCL club committee for the past 4 years, and have organised inclusivity events such as This Girl Can Climb. I have experience running a society and take welfare very seriously. I love this society and would be delighted to help run it!

Emma Evetovits

Hi! My name is Emma. I am running for the position of Welfare Officer to further develop Live Music Society's wholesome and welcoming environment. I strongly believe that the best music is made, performed and heard in a safe setting where everyone's unique talent and contribution are embraced and celebrated. As a Peer Link Worker at the SU, I’ve gained considerable experience providing support to fellow UCL students, equipping me with the skills to successfully represent LM members’ social, emotional and physical wellbeing in this role. In the past year of being part of LM, I have witnessed the incredible power of this society to bring students from diverse backgrounds together through their shared love of music; I have also felt how daunting it is to send in your first audition or perform at your first open-mic. As Welfare Officer, my primary goal would be to provide an accessible and friendly point of contact to address any concerns or questions you may have, to make sure that no voice gets left unheard...figuratively and literally. Moreover, I would like to expand on this year’s themed events (eg. This Girl Can/ BME open mic nights) that aimed to increase representation for all members of the society. I also hope to work together with Events Officers to run some mental health and wellbeing-themed events that provide an opportunity for fundraising. Thank you for your time and feel free to contact me with any questions at [email protected].

Emilia Mizielinska

Hello, my name is Emilia, and I mainly play bass and sing a bit:) I've been involved in music since I was a kid and I love everything about it, from listening, to playing, performing, and dancing.

I joined the Live Music Society this year and absolutely fell in love with the vibez, and intend to keep it as approachable, open, and inclusive for everyone as possible, especially considering how well I was received by its current members:)

During this year, I attended Mental Health Awareness Training and the Tackiling Sexual Violence Training, and I think I am equipped to fulfill the role of Wellfare Officer well. I want to offer support to anyone who needs it, but also react to concerning issues and situations, which pose any type of threat to anyone (which would ultimately be my job, but just letting you guys know I am taking this seriously).

I want to make our members feel comfortable and safe in the space that we are creating together, while also having a lot of fun during gigs and socials:)

I know the past years has been tough for everyone, and I hope I could be a part of next year's committee to create a place for new experiences and exploring our musicality, whether you play, sing, or don't do any of that at all (which is also fine, we welcome all) :)

If you vote for me, I guarantee you I will keep the vibez going, and potentially organize a Shrek social;)
