Having had the experience of being the social sec for one of the biggest sports societies at UCL, I know exactly what it takes to create engaging and informative social media content & make sure it reaches the right people.

Since joining the society, knitting (or crochet if we’re being honest ;) has become a huge part of my life and personality. I would love to be part of the committee so I can share my passion with you guys and get to know more of you in the upcoming year :)

Giselle Best

Hi everyone! I’m Giselle, and I’m the current social media officer for KnitSoc.

I have been fortunate enough to have this position for a couple of months and I have truly enjoyed running the social media accounts, interacting with both committee and society members through engaging (and occasionally funny) posts. If I were elected for a second term, I can confidently say that I would continue to deliver messages in an imaginative and creative way, which I feel would be very useful for drawing positive attention to the society and any events that take place.

Knitting and crochet are two hobbies that majorly grew in popularity during lockdown (as they rightfully should!) as they are extremely rewarding and relaxing activities that have the added bonus of producing a colourful and creative project at the end. My aim for this role would be to continue posting more interactive forms of media, enabling KnitSoc to reach a wider audience and encourage a larger intake of new society members, alongside the recognition that this amazing and extremely welcoming society deserves.

As I have not been part of the committee for long, I feel I still have lots to give back, so I would love to have the opportunity to do this through being elected as the full-term media officer next year!
