Vedika Mathur

Hi everyone! My name is Vedika and I’ve been part of Jazz society for a year now.

I am running for this role to combine my love of music with my passion for volunteering. The opportunities in London are endless and getting involved in community outreach projects will enrich people’s society experience and bring us together.

If elected I will:

  • Find regular volunteering opportunities for the society, such as raising money through one-off performances or forming long-term partnerships with charitable agencies
  • Arrange society ‘away-days’ with charities for fun volunteering and team building activities
  • Make sure to ask jazz members which organisations they want to support, and provide opportunities for people to run their own projects

My skills and experience:

As one of the lead organisers for a residential summer camp for up to 200 children in the UK, I have experience in reaching out to speakers and activity leaders, constructing itineraries, designing interactive workshops and liaising with funding agencies - skills that will be vital for creating high-quality outreach opportunities for jazz soc!

Working with non-profits and social enterprises as part of UCL’s 180 Degrees Consulting branch has helped me gain experience in communicating with and collaborating with charities.
