Edoardo Borso

I am Edoardo Borso, a first year BSc Mathematics student. I am running for the position of Treasurer of UCL Italian Society!

Throughout these months at UCL I have been an active member of the society, tacking part to all the events organized, which gave me the opportunity to get to know the society in depth.

Thanks to the time spent with the community, I now know well everyone in the current committee; something that is helping me to better understand how to manage the society and to organize interesting social events for its members.

I think that now it’s time to contribute directly to the society, giving all my best to continue its positive expansion.

I can’t wait to carry out this great job, embarking in a new exciting experience next year!

Thanks a lot,

Edoardo

Renato Corradini

Hello Everyone, I am Renato, an Italian maths student standing to be your next Treasurer. My vision for the society is for there to be more interaction between members and create a real sense of community and belonging, but this is not much different to what others see for the future of the society. What sets me apart is commitment. The society needs people who have the time and energy to bring change; which is where I come into play.

What qualifies me for the role you might ask? Throughout my time here at UCL I have taken a few roles within the union to better understand its inner workings, from sitting on the risk and audit committee for the union, to sitting on the Welfare and Community zone, where through interactions with members from all over the university, I understood the meaning of belonging to a community. Most recently I also took a role within United Italian Societies, a organisation that seeks greater solidarity between Italian societies in the UK. My role within UIS ties in extraordinarily well with the role I am pursuing within Italian Society, as I am tasked with landing new sponsors for UIS which goes hand in hand with working as the Treasurer for this society. These are the experiences I have under the belt that make me fit for this role, make me someone with the right abilities, skillset but most importantly determination to lead this society on and deliver greatness in the year to come.

Vote now for your next Treasurer.

Marco Fontanesi

Since I was attending high school, I always tried to make the most of my school experience, focusing not only on my academic results, but also on several extra curriculum activities. For instance, I became school representative, having the possibility to help in a concrete way my classmates, bringing up problems and proposals and developing leadership skills. Moreover, I participated as treasurer in several fundraising, promoted by the school representatives, in which I dealt with sums of money and managed the budgets for some interesting projects. Thus, considering my previous experiences, I believe I would be a good fit for the role, and I am ready to show my commitment for the Italian Society.

If elected, my priorities would be working in team with the fellow members of the committee to relaunch the activity of the society and to promote new activities in the name of the history of the society at UCL, as well as new interesting conferences.

Thanks for your attention.

A presto

Marco
