Hi! I am Kamile, a current VP of Conference & Competitions at UCLIS with 2 years of experience with the society, eager to bring the society to new heights as a Welfare Officer! 2 years with UCLIS let me discover what an inspiring community this society unites, and how my experience and passion for this family-like society can contribute to its further success.
As a FYR in my first year and a VP of Conference & Competitions in my second, I have 1) organised the largest to-date UCL Finance Conference 2021 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, including 250+ attendees from 25+ world-class universities, 6 keynote speakers, a Jefferies Stock Pitch Competition, analysts' panel discussion, Financial Edge IB workshop and online course; 2) led Conference & Competitions team of executives; 3) secured 3 long-term sponsorships for UCLIS 4) successfully organised the Fireside chat attended by more than 60 students. Through this and more, I have learnt to organise large-scale UCLIS events with attention to our society members' needs, expectations, and wellbeing.
As a Welfare Officer, I aim to continue raising the quality and scale of UCLIS by interacting with current UCLIS members and collaborating with UCLIS alumni to introduce even more diverse discussions and unique networking opportunities for all of you.
It is no secret that UCLIS is close to perfection, however, there is always room to achieve more - that is what I aim to do.
Hi, I'm Steve Mathew, a first-year economics student and I am standing to be your next welfare officer. I will use my past experience and knowledge in leadership and management roles to enforce equality and diversity and act in the best interests of the members to constantly move the investment society forward on the welfare agenda. I will always consider race, sexuality, gender, age, disability and religion to ensure that everyone has equal opportunities and will continue my work making the investment society more LGBT+ friendly. Moreover, I want everyone to be able to speak up and not only to be listened to, but also heard. I will do everything I can to help tackle any problems and to direct you to the best support. This also means continuing the things you guys love!
If elected, I will be YOUR welfare officer and my work will be directed by you.
