Jaymin Shah

Hey, I’m Jaymin and I'm a first year Medic. I love getting to know new people and I believe that I would be the perfect candidate for the role of Social Secretary.

Over the course of my gap year, I worked in a COVID vaccination clinic as the main source of communication between the administration and clinical teams. This hugely bolstered my organisational and team-working skills, as I had to work closely with the NHS staff to ensure the smooth running of the busy vaccination centre. As Social Secretary, these skills would enable me to meet with other members of the committee to coordinate and create fun and exciting social events (just like the trademark events of Dhamaal and Jashn)!

As part of my school prefect team, I was involved in setting up many successful charity events, one of which raised over £700 for the well-known foundation, Samaritans. These experiences developed my marketing and promotional skills, as I had to figure out new ways to attract students to get involved with the fund-raising activities. If I were given the opportunity to be your Social Secretary, I would utilise these skills to arrange a wide variety of events, including inter-university and inter-society activities, that are inclusive and bring new and current members of the society together to have a good time.
