The last year has been incredible. I started out as the Head of Events, a position where I stepped in to help support our society in bringing pre-covid times back. One year ago if you had told me that the Hungarian Society would grow as close to my heart as it did I would not have believed you. Yet here I am, running for president.
I began working with the committee of the Hungarian Society in the summer, and by September we were ready to start organising the weekly events, go to the Welcome Fair and collaborate with other external societies and organizations. I also managed our media platforms and I advocated for the addition of an event officer to our team, David Tang. Together we organised weekly Magyar Mondays, trips around the country, pub nights and other outings, and spent a lot of time preparing and leading these.
My involvement with many areas of the committee’s work led me to become the General Secretary. While I really enjoyed spending this year with hands-on work I'm ready to take on an even bigger responsibility. I would like to collaborate more with both societies within UCL, in London and all over the UK. Now more than ever it is important to support each other, and I’m looking forward to sharing my love for our culture as the president in the coming year!
PS: I would like to thank the current committee for their support and patience, I hope to continue working with you next year!
