Hello! I’m Sam, a 3rd year Chemical Engineering Student. After being involved in UCL Guild for the past year, I am now running for Treasurer. Through my attendance of the Guild's events, I’ve had the opportunity to observe and evaluate how the society works, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed at this year’s committee. I hope if elected, I can continue their excellent work into the new year.
I joined this society because UCL Guild is unique in that it doesn't limit its members to a certain branch of a certain industry. It tells us, WE CAN. We can learn whatever we want, we can join with enough hard work and dedication without being pigeonholed. I hope that in this capacity as Treasurer I can not only ensure the smooth running of the logistics behind bringing you more and better events, but also participate and get to know more of you, learn about your perspectives, and work towards better futures for each of us as we develop through this next year.
Being a Chemical Engineering student, and having experience dealing with things like this from my time running my own tutoring business and managing my own investment portfolio, I am convinced I can meet your expectations for this role, and I look forward to joining the committee you elect on this new adventure.
Hi! I’m Bryan - the current Treasurer at the Guild and a second year Statistics, Economics and Finance student. This year, I am thrilled to be running for the Guild Treasurer position once again.
Having had the privilege of being a part of the Guild committee for 2 years, what I believe sets me apart is not only my various experiences within the different functions of the Guild but also my proficiency and deeper understanding of each role that comes with time.
This year, most of my work revolved around processing contracts and invoices for all 6 Guild societies as well as assisting Sherman, the current president, in overlooking the various divisions of the Guild. With these invaluable experiences in hand, my goal for next year is to fine tune these procedures to free up time and enable me to assist the president in other areas of the society - truly allowing it to grow and prosper.
Additionally, I’ve had the advantage of fostering strong relationships with my fellow Guild members. Not only are they fantastically driven, passionate and kind people but they are the backbone to the success of our committee and I plan to use the role of Treasurer to continue enabling their ambitions and pushing the Guild to new heights.
As the largest society group at UCL, I believe that the Guild plays a vital role to our student body and there is still massive potential to grow. I am excited to be a part of that!
Hi everyone.
I’m Shavak, a 2nd-year Economics student, and I’m running to be your next Treasurer at the Guild.
In a sprawling careers group like ours, the Treasurer wields a huge fiduciary responsibility. A rigorously well-managed budget has the capacity to fund a transformative array of events and socials for all members.
As your Treasurer, I thus guarantee to fortify the Guild's finances.
Having assisted at a regional accountancy firm and excelled in the ‘Accounting for Business’ module this year, I have developed strong bookkeeping skills. As an analyst for the UCL M&A Group, I have developed an operational understanding of financial statements. Moreover, with an upcoming IB internship, I will further advance my financial accounting skills by the onset of the next academic year.
A home is supported principally by its foundation. With my integrity, passion, and experience, rest assured that the foundation of your home at the Guild will be secure with me as Treasurer.
