Freestyle Dance Society: Treasurer

Hello everyone! I am Sonia Paoli, nominating for treasurer. My best way of contributing to the society is by being entrusted with the financial aspects of the club, as I have a methodical way of thinking and have experience in dealing with sums of money and budgets. One of my first priorities is to allocate our funds efficiently in order to facilitate battles and socials in the society. I will create opportunities to help bonding within the group, so that we can strengthen the community, where people pump each other up, learn from each other, and especially where people can find others to work with as a team for battles, even if new in the society. 

Though I started dancing by watching and learning from choreography videos online, I also realised that there was another type of excitement and fun from just leaving your body to the music and dancing whatever comes to your head at the moment. Freestyle dance society is the perfect place for this, as dancers, no matter what level, can just have fun and share ideas during cyphers. Throughout the year I've attended various workshops and learnt a lot about the different dance genres, and definitely felt more confident in freestyling. As a member of Freestyle Dance Society, I wanted to take on a leadership role that would help bring about an environment to encourage dancers of various backgrounds and levels to have fun and share their passion for dance.
