Filipino Society: Treasurer

It has been a pleasure to be your President this year! However, as I only took over during term two, I have not had much time to fulfil my ambitions for the society. I still have many ideas and plans that I hope to continue working on, therefore I would like to take this opportunity to run for another position.

As Treasurer, it will be my prime responsibility to keep the society financially afloat. I will ensure that our money is spent wisely by keeping a close track of expenditure and budgeting for events. To allow members to get the most out of their memberships, I endeavour to reach out to external businesses to secure discounts for our society. We are already fortunate enough to be collaborating with Rapsa, Maginhawa Group and Jessie My Earrings, who I aim to continue working with next year along with new partners. In addition, I will also be open to feedback from members regarding what they would like in our events e.g. free food, giveaways, raffles. 

This society has given me a space to form amazing friendships which I am very grateful for, therefore I would like to recreate this experience. I am also very eager to maintain our relationships with the other London Filipino Societies. Our past collaborations with ICL, LSE, KCL and UAL have been a huge success which allowed members to form new friendships and connections. 

I am very excited to be considered for this position and I hope to continue giving back to this society!
