Ludovica Ardente

I believe in a European identity and I am determined to build a community that will reflect it. As President, my main goal is to further establish the European Society as a space for discussion and growth through:

  • panels with prominent figures in EU institutions
  • networking events
  • Socials (cookouts, clubnights, and more)
  • Collaboration with other societies at UCL and beyond

Further, I want to revive the Eureka Magazine, which has not been published for the past year and create a space for high-quality articles on European politics, economics and culture.

It is fundamental to construct a strong network during the short time we spend at university and I will ensure that being part of the European Society will be one of your highlights.

Danilo Paganelli

Hey everyone! My name is Danilo, the current president of the UCL European Society, and I hope to be your president next year too! :) I have worked very hard this year in a very small committee to create fun events for our members, such as collabs, picnics, pub events and the UCL EuroVision event (coming later in March), and next year I will work even harder in ensuring that events happen more often and are very enjoyable. I have made many friends through this society and many members have told me the same, and I hope to continue helping members making valuable friends next year as well! One thing that I have piloted this year and will start next year properly are "Cultural Wednesdays" sessions - where a different European Society teaches about their language and culture (e.g. Italian Society teaches about Italian, Austrian Society teachers about Austrian culture and its language etc). I also will continue to help promote the amazing European Clubnights and want to help revive helping members write for the Eureka Magazine. I also want to work with the Endangered Languages Society (which I founded this year) to offer language classes in those languages (such as Cornish and Breton). I have been on the committee of many many societies this year and this has given me a lot of experience + skills and connections for collabs next year! I will ensure that all members are happy, supported and listened to, and that the society is the very best it can be!
