Lily F H Virtue

Hello to everyone.

My name is Lily, and I am a second-year History student standing for President of the ELSA society in 2022-23.

As a prospecting lawyer, I believe it is critical to have a foot in the door, and I believe this society can help. Although we are a small organisation, with the correct work ethic and devotion, we can assure that numerous chances arise from ELSA.

As I intend to take on the post of Vice President Marketing Officer for the remainder of the current year, I will have already comprehended the workings of the society and contributed to its reputation and social media presence.

I have numerous plans for the future of ELSA, ranging from an active social calendar to contacting large European legal companies. There is so much we can do to make this society great. Languages are also highly essential in European Law, and I intend to incorporate this as well: I want to contact specialists in both domains and host European law events (conferences, seminars...).

I intend to contact other larger university societies (such as Lawforall) and hope to collaborate on specific initiatives (Commerical awareness etc). This will be an excellent venue to hone the abilities required to become a great lawyer.

I am a very sociable, easygoing, and highly motivated individual, and I am confident that I am the ideal candidate for this position.

Julia Godlewska

I am a Security and Crime Science student at UCL and a former Member of the Board at ELSA Warsaw. This year, I am taking a break from my law degree to focus on the UCL experience. Nevertheless, I would like to continue my journey with ELSA and contribute to its development. I believe that my experience combined with curiosity will help improve ELSA UCL. I have decided to apply as I believe that ELSA is an association where values similar to mine are shared as I want to contribute to building "a just world in which there is respect for human dignity and cultural diversity".

Conor Dolan

I am very keen to run as I have several ideas of how to grow the society and, after many weeks for working "behind the scenes", I have been encouraged by the current President to stand for election so that I can implement these. Moreover, as member of the debating society committee, I hope that I can use my existing leadership experience and connections to organise collaborative events and improve the overall experience of members of the European Law Students Association.

I want to:

- Work to promote the society to increase membership.

- organise more intersociety events with societies such as the debating society and UCL law society.

- use our increased membership to host internal events such as moot debates and guest speaker seminars.

-  work with the wider ELSA community to provide opportunities for our members to go on embassy trips and attend conferences around the world.

- use our society as a platform to engage in geo-political issues.
