Jing Xin Khaw

From hosting more than a thousand international students for a leadership conference at the age of 16 to learning and appreciating the value of ingenuity as a storyteller and marketer for various entities, I believe at the heart of my pursuit lies the common denominator  a passion for people and innovative ideas capable of disrupting, redefining and revolutionise when we need it the most. I am deeply humbled by my election as the Global Head of External Liaison of an international entrepreneurship organisation which gave me an opportunity I have always yearned: to learn, to share and to contribute. Most importantly, I understand how the ecosystem works, the process of ideation and the difficulties entrepreneurs face in each phase. In fact, I was one of them and had the pleasure to witness it with my own eyes when I worked alongside some of the world's most brilliant start-ups such as Rice Inc and IGL Coatings with a great emphasis on social impact. There is one final testament to my desire to run. As a member of Entrepreneurship Society, I had been passively enjoying the fruits of labour of the committee, without contributing as much as I could. This is something I am greatly ashamed of. So, here I am. I am standing for this position because I want to be of service, to be in awe of individuals sharing my passion to build our own legacies, in helping budding entrepreneurs within the community bloom within the ecosystem of innovation and business.

Irem Recebli

My interest in entrepreneurship started with High School's Entrepreneurship Competition of Junior Achievement Turkey where my team achieved second place in the category of the best marketing for our startup called Simple where I worked as a communications manager. My interest in entrepreneurship got elevated with UCLE. I loved the variety of inspiring speakers from different startups. I also enjoyed attending the networking socials where I met with people from startups including Kickstart. Moreover, UCLE committee provided internship opportunities for us in interesting startups such as Metalchemy where I found my ideal summer internship.

Entrepreneurs society means a lot to me so I feel urged to contribute to our society and committee with the treasurer role. Having the privilege of being a part of UCLE committee will allow me to use what I have already learned throughout my previous experiences in startups to make an impact on this society. Additionally, I will be able to use my managerial accounting knowledge, a part of my degree, effectively during this role to run the treasury carefully by paying attention to cash and liquidity management and risk management.

Please don’t hesitate to approach me with questions. I can’t wait to start improving our society!

Jennifer Manoj Keswani

Throughout my education, I’ve believed in learning through pragmatic experiences. Having been a part of UCLE Bloomsbury Ventures for two years, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from innovators working with unicorns from the ground up, seed-stage start-ups and UCL students with game-changing ideas. At UCLE BV, I worked with VC professionals, gathering speakers from Index Ventures who have worked with companies like Glossier, Etsy, Discord, Revolut; as well as Notion Capital, Playfair Capital, MMC Ventures and many more. I gained a great deal of knowledge and leadership, interpersonal, financial and critical-thinking skills from these experiences. I wish to run for Treasurer to create a community of lateral thinkers as well as inspire, catalyse and grow entrepreneurial minds. I want to create data-backed decisions for activities and events at UCLE, listening to the voices of our members. I aim to help aspiring entrepreneurs by efficiently sharing our knowledge and resources through a centralized system for easier access, helping them build connections and gain experience. As a treasurer, I will ensure the financial health of the society and efficient use of resources. Above all, I want to help people realize their passion and potential – as entrepreneurship creates pathways for individuals to explore a diversity of interests. Here’s what I know for sure: everyone has the potential to bring their ideas to life – you just need to believe it before you see it.
