As an economics major at UCL, finance has always been my passion. It is without a doubt that having an efficient budget and raising finance important for running the society and providing members with various opportunities throughout the years that essentially "money can buy"
To keep things short ;
I believe that I am well-informed on our society being the previous activities and engagement officer (2021-2022)
During my previous role, a major problem I was faced with financing events, and to have an exceptional event , money plays a major part and it is my aim to have extravagant events without increasing costs to members.
I will be able to passionately pursue the duties expected from being a treasurer, with previous experience in the treasury department of a renowned wealth-fund.
I am passionate about spreading financial literacy among the society as I have always realized not having adequate financial literature may be dear regardless of your career ( you will almost always have to manage your finances ) Therefore I would encourage and implement financial literacy workshops to help increase the skills of our members in the society.
I hope that in the near future to pursue a career in finance and that I look back at this moment as the fuel required to jumpstart my career; and that members of UCLUAE society gain from the initiatives I will be taking as treasurer.
Officially establishing the Emirati society and being Head of Treasury and Outreach for almost 2 years has strengthened my leadership and communication skills. Since then, I have independently taken over many UCLUAE projects and have gained sufficient knowledge of how both the Student's Union and Cultural Attache operate. I genuinely enjoy supporting our society, and I'm extremely proud of what we have all achieved in such a short time. Therefore, I'd love to continue being a part of the committee next year to expand our outreach and strengthen our ties with current and future UCL students.
