Hi guys, I'm Ruiwen. I'm deeply passionate about econ & finance and helping fellow students. If elected as Econ VP, I will do my best to bring new values to a new EFS! My priorities are simple:
- Set up a regular podcast and publication on major topics such as Ukraine, pandemic, cryptos, new macro etc for members to contribute to, as well as inviting guest contributions from major economists and figures
- Set up workshops on publishing papers in collaboration with department
- Organise events on a wider scale, especially with other unis, organisations and international forums (eg, IMF, WEF)
- Help you access scholarships, masters’ and prep for this
- Bring more funding and partnerships including with think tanks and publishing a report on this
- Provide members with a better insight and prep for EF related careers
I'm confident in accomplishing these as I’ve had previous experience leading societies, organising visits to heads of states, dinners and dialogue with government and business leaders. I have extensive public service experience, incl directly contributing to setting up >100 schools and hospitals. I’ll be interning at the NDRC, and have public and private sector experience, including working on a $15bn fund, with firsthand experience of how policy drives markets and markets influence policy.
All in all, I’m deeply passionate, I believe many of you are too, so let's help bring a fresh start to EFS 2.0, together!
