Dance Society: Tech Officer

Hi everyone, I'm Selina and I'm running for Tech Officer of DanceSoc! Dancing in the Freshers’ Show and Bloomsbury Show this year was really fun, and I would love to be more involved in the society next year through being Tech Officer. 

Aside from ballet, another hobby I am extremely passionate about is media production. In secondary school, I was the chairlady of my school’s Media Production Team, and was responsible for filming school events (eg. concerts, competitions) and editing videos for them. I have developed filming skills and familiarised myself with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. I believe that my experience with media production will make me a suitable candidate for this role. If I am elected, I will ensure that high-quality videos of dance shows and competitions will be uploaded to Youtube promptly, and I will also carry out website maintenance for the DanceSoc website regularly.

Hi everyone, I’d love to be your next Tech Officer! Most of my highlights from my first year have been in Dance Soc and I’ve loved being in Freshers Show, Blooms and the Tap competition team and I’d definitely love to be even more involved next year!

I think I’d be great for this position as I have experience doing video and sound editing through doing a social media internship where I edited reels which were posted on Instagram. I also volunteer for a cancer support centre where I edited some promotional videos of their charity shops for them. I have also helped them to add information to and update their website and so I would be confident updating the Dance Soc website.

I have loved being part of different Dance Soc shows this year but I would also be really excited to work on the tech and production side of things!
