Tarek Khan

Hi, I’m Tarek. I'm a first-year law student, standing for this position to help UCL cycling club continue to grow and maintain its presence as an active and inclusive society.I've thoroughly enjoyed my first year as a member of UCL cycling club, having joined in my first week at UCL. As president, I would ensure we continue with our busy schedule of informal training rides, Regent's Park laps, and races, whilst attempting to engage more with members through social events and meetups.

I aim to support the expansion of women's only rides which seem to have been a great success this year, and promote further inclusivity and diversity in the club. I would make sure that rides catering for all abilities would take place each week, and plan to organise more rides out of London into the countryside. In addition to this, I am keen to expand our involvement in racing, through both UCL organised races as well as group trips to British Cycling events. I also plan on organising team gym sessions involving turbo training workouts and targeted S&C. In addition to our role as a cycling club for roadies and mountain bikers, I would like to expand the club's influence on cycling at UCL in general. As a group of experienced cyclists, I believe we would be able to provide important feedback to the university on road safety as well as the current bike theft crisis, in order to encourage more people at UCL to start cycling.I hope you will consider voting for me! Thanks
