I’m running for womens officer in the aim to get more girls in RUMS cc. It can be quite intimidating to come into a club for the first time especially coming into cricket which is seen as mainly a male sport. I feel like I would be a good advocate since Iv shown commitment in the little time Iv been at the cc and have integrated very well, making it possibly easier for others to do the same. I want to get more girls to come to socials and nets and hopefully get enough to make a girls team, which would be great to build inclusivity within the club as well as giving girls the opportunity to develop their game. Especially with training, there needs to be more of a regularity for the girls in order to improve so I hope I could bring more opportunities in regards to training. Women in cricket is greatly expanding and by getting more girls into the sport helps to build a more rounded society which will inevitably bring more girls into the club. This is what I hope to bring to the role of womens officer and would do my best to fulfill the aims put forward.
