Once again in 2024-25, absolutely everyone is welcome at RUMS Cricket Club - whether coming purely for the vibrant social aspect or the competitive cricket. Boasting an inclusive atmosphere and vast range of cricketing skill, this club is designed to have something for everyone.
Cricket training takes place weekly for all 3 terms at iconic venues such as “The Home of Cricket” Lord’s Cricket Ground and The Oval. Over the winter, expect plenty of indoor cricket, both intra-club and against rival universities all over London and the UK. Playing in the BUCS Indoor League provides our players with plenty of training and opportunities for stardom over the cold winter months. On top of this, we hold a prestigious weekly tournament known as RUMS Premier League to provide yet more opportunity to play the game we all know and love.
Once our cricket season rolls around, we field two teams of XI in the BUCS League and one XI in the LUSL League. If you are looking to play in a very competitive environment and win trophies, RUMS Cricket provides that opportunity to achieve greatness. Being a RUMS club, we play in the annual United Hospitals (UH) Cup which is highly coveted amongst the London medical schools and the T20 edition of which was most recently won by our own 1st XI in 2024.
Our social atmosphere is unmatched by any other RUMS club, as we hold the greatest Sports Night events every Wednesday at Mully’s, as well as regular events which are unmissable - such as our curry nights, Christmas Dinner party, and inaugural black-tie ball planned for early February. This social side runs alongside regular charity work, with Breast Cancer Awareness and Movember being amongst club favourites every year and multiple themed social nights to raise money and awareness for various, important causes. RUMS is known for hosting many events where multiple RUMS clubs get together to compete in one sport, and RUMS Cricket is proud to host the annual T10 Day competition which is always a great day out in the summer with all the clubs.
Tours are the most anticipated and unique offering for RUMS Cricket, having seen many unforgettable locations such as Barbados, Singapore, and Trinidad. Rumours circulate that India could be the destination of the next tour in 2025, with plenty of cricket and social events to be played in the subcontinent.
Teaching for our medical students is exceptional, with regular tutorials and mock exams for our members only. Although this teaching is aimed at medical students, students of all degrees join our club every year and enjoy its benefits for the cheapest price of any RUMS club.
Full Membership (£49.99) – Cheapest amongst all the RUMS clubs, for this affordable price you get access to everything RUMS Cricket has to offer on and off the cricket field.
Social Membership (£19.99) – The social membership allows you to attend social and teaching events, however any sort of cricket - training or matches, requires full membership.
