Benjamin Charles McDonnell

I Love Democracy.

I have been on committee for the last 3 years, most recently as Treasurer and have an incredibly in-depth understanding of how the society works.

My plans for next year are to secure 2 big name speakers (cabinet or senior ministerial) per term. I already have established contacts in parliament which I will use over the holidays to ensure that at the time of the freshers fair, we already have 2 speakers on the books to attract new members.

I believe in maintaining the level of formal events we have had as well as ensuring most events retain a level of informality that allows the society to stay attractive to new members.

I will work closely with my VP and Treasurer to ensure the committee is consulted on all necessary issues and that we facilitate a smooth transfer of responsibilities over the coming year to allow the up-skilling of junior committee members in preparation for the following election.

So if you Love Port, Love Queen and Love Country; vote Based, vote Bentham, VOTE BEN!

Aymen Aulaiwi

I have been a member of the society for three years and a dedicated servant to the committee. I believe now is the time for me to care for the child I have so graciously reared.

Many of you will know me as the eccentric social secretary, the oratory defender of the BBC, or, of course, as Birmingham community leader. As the President, I want to continue the great legacy that this society has established so far, by hosting more rousing Port and Policies, more delicious curry nights and, of course, more engaging speakers. This is the time, to bring our past into the future, for that, is what it means, to be conservative. Inshallah.

Btw, I'll also create a meme page.

Joseph Bingham Opp

As England's oldest Conservative association and one of the few fortunate enough to be at the locus of politics and culture not merely for the United Kingdom but the world, we have the potential to highlight the relevance and effectiveness of our beliefs under a unique kind of international spotlight.

As your president, it would be my firm intention to place debate, disputation, the free exchange of ideas both sound and unsound at the centre of our society. We are nothing if not excellent advocates for our principles, and by hosting regular debates (both port and policy and a more formal series of inter-society debates), utilizing the great power of the internet to boost the viewership of our wonderful Caerulean, and creating the opportunities for frequent engagement with our fellow London conservatives, we will ensure that our ideas are heard, understood, and valued.

I would endeavour to strengthen our connections with the Conservative Party here in London, increasing the number of opportunities for members to network with and impress Conservative movers and shakers, making the UCL Conservative Society a vital part of the Conservative presence in the Capital.

Finally, I would take advantage of our position at this global crossroads to build international connections with university Conservative associations through Europe, stimulating new conversations and an even more interesting series of socials.

It would be my honour to serve this society as your president.
