I am standing because I want to be a contributing member of the communication society committee. I have already been first year representative, which has allowed me to help other members of the committee in accomplishing the various tasks that allow workshops to run so smoothly. I know how events are run and how I might be expected to manage their running. I can work together with other committee members to create an efficient, cooperative, and most importantly, welcoming environment. I am also organised and will do my best to make the society a priority of mine. Nevertheless, I do not claim to be an eloquent speaker, or even a proficient one. I am simply a person, a student, with a strong will to improve my communication skills, while constantly challenging myself. I truly believe in the society’s goal of helping anyone—like you, like me— improve their public speaking skills, whatever their level. I am nominating myself for the role of events officer so that the society can continue to welcome curious, committed, and communicative students to workshops where ever single person’s aim is to better themselves in some way. I am not only qualified, but motivated to be your events officer and therefore ask that you place your trust in my hands and vote for me. Thank you and I look forward to communicating with you soon! :)
