Comedy Club: President

Hi everyone! I’m Silvia, and I am running for President. I am a very hard-working person, and I will put in every effort to make sure everything runs smoothly and everyone has fun. I am really sociable and work well in groups, therefore I would love to collaborate with other members of the committee to organize workshops, performances, socials, trips and other exiting opportunities. I am also very organized, so as much as I prefer doing comedy, I tolerate and manage bureaucracy well. Due to Covid the club was inactive for almost two years, and it would be really amazing to have an active role in giving more students the opportunity to get involved in comedy. I also have many ideas to get the comedy club involved in the community, for example I would like the club to attend more charity and fundraising events to take action with respect to issues that are important to members. Lastly, I want to make sure the club is a safe and accessible space for everyone; therefore, I will take any concern or advice with respect to that very seriously. I hope that I will be able to join the committee and get more students involved in comedy, and I’m sure that many talented people will be able to enjoy the opportunities this club gives next year!

My passion for performing, my belief that comedy is a way to create a strong voice for the voiceless, and my desire to inspire confidence in my fellow students.
The Comedy Club is privileged to be in a unique position of not only providing a force of entertainment and good in this world, but also fostering strong orators, confident public speaking and therefore real change through the craft and that is something I intend to take advantage of.
