As this is the first year of PRIS, I've been already involved with managing events and helping with finding workshops. I would love to have the position name officially and contribute more to this amazing society!
I am standing for Events director as Socials Coordinator because I am incredibly passionate about this society and making sure its members have a fun experience that isn’t strictly professional. I have attended all the committee meetings, as well as most of the socials and talks organised by the society, which shows my dedication to the position and society. Since the beginning of the academic year, I have done my best to market the society and motivate others to join.
As the interim Socials coordinator, I helped organise the first intercollegiate social mixer for London’s political risk societies with KCL and LSE. In the future, I'm excited to collaborate further with different universities while still ensuring a vast array of UCL-only events. I want to allow UCL students to come together, socialise as well as network through bar crawls, pub meet-ups, networking events and alcohol-free get-togethers. I am excited to hear the members and committee’s ideas for the year to come and will try my hardest to implement them.
Hi everyone! My name is Justin, and I am applying for the academic events director position. I am interested in political risk analysis and have recently joined London Politica. Before this, I also worked as a Research Assistant for Brad Blitz, where we helped Afghanistan human rights activists find asylum and have some experience working in Counter Terrorism Risk Assessment from job experience in Hong Kong. I also have experience directing events from my roles in the Politics and International Relations Social Committee and Guitar Society and my various high school volunteering, where I organised food packaging events and large-scale MUN conferences. I am particularly passionate about counter-terrorism strategies and have many contacts from my previous work who may help support this society.
