Salli Sarvela
Moi everyone!
My name is Salli and I am currently doing my Masters in Hispanic studies here at UCL. Although born and bred in rural Finland, I have travelled the world quite a bit since and one of the greatest ways to alleviate homesickness and uphold my Nordic identity in different places has been through meeting other Nordic or Nordic-minded students and spreading our wonderful cultural heritage. I have plenty of experience organising societies during my undergraduate and communications-related things are nothing new to me. Nothing quite tickles my brain like a nice newsletter or a well-curated group chat. I am also organised and highly motivated and hence I'd love to join the amazing Nordic Society's team!
Finally, I am always happy to engage in (well-meaning) debates about the true origin of korvapuusti/kanelbulle or do a mini-lesson about Finnish baseball (the most graceful of all Scandi sports, amirite?). See you at the next event!

Amelie Larsen
Hej alle! I'm Amelie, I'm currently in 2nd year of EISPS specialising in Geography. I am half Danish and would love to become more involved in the Nordic society this year. I have been in an interim position as a communication manager since September and have really enjoyed designing the posts for the society's Instagram and attending the weekly committee meetings.
I would like the Nordic society to become a "home away from home" for Nordic students who feel they need to reconnect with their roots, or simply students who are interested in learning more about the Nordic spirit :) As the communication manager I will be able to make sure that everyone is up to date with our upcoming events.
