Being a third-year biomedical engineering student representative has taught me what it takes to create a friendly and welcoming environment for students and guide them to the right place for different issues they may have. It has made me understand the importance of presenting information correctly to the cohort which has led to successful results for different issues arisen. This has helped me improve my negotiation and communication skills. To organize a successful event, you need to be creative, adaptive and have skills such as problem solving, communication, and time management. My continuous work in other societies (Gaming Society) and projects (Project Impactive) has provided me with all these skills and I am ready to take on the role to connect students with different organizations and with each other through different social and career events.
Hello! I am Raquel and I am third year student in the Biomedical Engineering programme. Having been part of the society for some time, I have been able to experience the amazing work and events that have been carried out until now and the potential to make these even better. This has really motivated me to want to form part of the committee as an Event Executive and be a part of this.
I believe we have the opportunity to organise a great variety of great events that would be very interesting for all members of the society. These events could range from networking events with leading firms on the field or guests speakers, to social events where members of the society are able to come together and get to know each other and make new friends with shared interests. Events are key to the society and I am motivated to make the most out of this opportunity!
