Candidates

Olivia Murnaghan

I am standing because I want to be there for Spark both on and off the mat, whether that be with tricky stunts or stressing about assessments. I wish to use my skills in organization, my enthusiasm, and my passion to make Spark the best it can be.

Aminah Patel

Ever since joining the Society on Charge last year, I have been overwhelmed by how much I love the community and would love to give back as Spark Captain. I have had experience at school running and cleaning up dances for showcases, and subbing in for people who were sick, so come competition time can make sure we are all on the same page when it comes to counts. I also have a lot of experience in editing music, having in the past already editing music for performances. I would love to promote an attitude in the team where we all not only improve together in a healthy manner, but also support each other and encourage each other, which is massively helped by organising socials as a team. I am committed, a hard worker and approachable so I hope to be a calm helpful and co-operative captain.

Anya Pancholi-Moore

Hi I'm Anya, and I'm throwing my hat into the ring for Spark Captain. Although I'm new to cheer this year, I've jumped in with both feet and have been welcomed with open arms by the incredible cheer community, especially by my teammates. That's why I'd love the opportunity to give back to the team and take on this role.

I believe in the huge potential of our team and I've seen us improve so much in the few weeks we've been training together. I would love to foster an environment in which we are all rooting for each other to succeed. That includes cheering on teammates when a stunt hits, being there to lift each other up if it falls, and encouraging us all to try again. I would aim to be a captain you can count on for anything. New ideas, problems, or just a chat.

I'm up for bringing more fun Spark socials into the mix. I'd love to organise meals out, games nights, or even just going for a drink after training. I believe in building strong bonds off the mat so we can trust each other when it matters most.

I've had a similar role before as House Captain at school which involved organising sports events and motivating teams, some key skills I would love to bring to this position.

In a nutshell, I'd love to make Spark even brighter, bring us closer, and push us to be the best we can be. Lets have a great year, make lasting memories and friendships, and show everyone what Spark is really about.

Thank you for considering me!

Jaslyn Allen

I started cheer this year, I’ve always thought the sport was interesting and it’s a brilliant way to keep fit and make friends! I’m standing because in the short time I’ve been here it’s been a wonderful opportunity and I’d love to do more for my team. I’m very committed and I’d happily dedicate my time to make sure my team is comfortable and at their best and I think I could make the right decisions overall for their success.

Emily Jones

Hi, I’m Emily and I would love to be your Spark captain for the 23/24 season! I joined cheer last year and was on charge and loved every minute of it, and can’t wait to get a chance to compete this year with you all :) I like to think I’m a very positive person who can keep everyone motivated whilst cheering them on (my cheeriest cheerleader certificate still sits pride of place on my wall at home!) and I am very committed to the sport.

As captain I would love to organise lots of socials for us to bond as a team, we are a relatively large team so it will definitely take a while for everyone to get to know each other in training but hopefully with some team outings we can speed this up! I am open to any suggestions of what these could be, but was thinking meals, nights out and activities like a trampoline park trip to work on our jumps and pretend to be 5 again!

I’m very organised so will keep you updated on all important announcements re trainings, socials and competitions, and will do my best to help the team be as ready as we can to hit mat, be that through helping with music, choreography and reminding people to bring plenty of food!!

Finally, I’m always here for anyone to talk to, to pass on any concerns to and just to support you all in any way possible. We have such an amazing team this year, it’s been lovely getting to know you all and I know we will have the most amazing season! Lightning love <3
