Sudanese Society: President

Salam! To keep it short, as a part-time MA student in Education, Health Promotion, and International Development, I have gained a deep understanding of humanitarian principles and the importance of sustainable, community-led initiatives especially amongst youth. Serving as interim president, I’ve already had the opportunity to foster many exciting collaborations and plan impactful events with a humanitarian purpose, helping to bring our community closer together while raising funds. If elected as President, I plan to bring these ideas to life and strengthen our philanthropic initiatives further, including teaming up with other Sudanese societies, organising awareness campaigns, making most of SU resources and hosting fundraising events that directly support causes in Sudan. I’m also eager to leverage my connections with Sudanese filmmakers, creatives and the UCL Petrie Museum of Sudanese and Egyptian Archaeology who kindly invited me to an event for Sudan and I got to explore how to bring unique cultural experiences to our society as well as to non-sudanese students who can learn more about our heritage during a time it is being actively destroyed. 
Together, we can make a real, lasting difference—not just at our university, but also back home in Sudan during this crucial time.
