Rebecca Ann Kuan

Hi everyone! I’m Rebecca, a 2nd Year Medical Sciences student.

I’m nominating myself for the Graphic Designer role. With my passion for design and experience in marketing, I’m excited to help bring your articles to life visually, ensuring that your hard work is represented in the best way possible!

As Head of Marketing for the Lifestyle Medicine Society, Pathology Society Academic Officer, and Publicity Officer for last year's Medical Society Conference, I’ve developed strong skills in creating visually engaging content that communicates effectively. In addition to my society work, I’ve also undertaken personal projects to explore my interest in bridging science and media, including writing a literature review article, running scientific journal clubs, and publishing a social media post on Lipid Nanoparticles for a student Instagram account "Medscape".

As a Canvas and Adobe Photoshop warrior, I’m committed to creating designs that reflect the excellence of the articles submitted by our student writers. My goal is to ensure that every edition of Science Magazine is visually striking and accurately represents the creativity and depth of the work produced by our members.

If given the opportunity, I will dedicate myself to crafting graphics that not only represent the brilliance of our student writers but also accommodate their unique styles and voices, continuously improving and developing to the best of my capabilities. :)

Caitlin Zhang

Hi everyone! I’m Caitlin, a second-year Applied and Medical Sciences student, and I’m excited to nominate myself for the Graphic Designer position.

With a strong foundation in science and visual communication, I bring relevant skills and experience to this role. Currently, I serve as the Marketing Director for the Integrated Medical Sciences Society, where I design materials to engage medical sciences students. Last year, I was also a committee member for Publications and Promotions at the UCL Public Affairs and Social Service Society, which strengthened my ability to create impactful promotional content and enhanced my teamwork and communication skills. Additionally, I founded the HeartReach project in high school, where I led promotional initiatives and collaborated with charities to organize meaningful events.

Proficient with design tools like Canva and with a keen eye for aesthetics, I am committed to delivering visually engaging content that aligns with UCL Science Magazine’s mission to inspire curiosity and excitement in science and technology. Thank you for considering my nomination!
